Hospice, what it is and what it isn’t and how to access this important service.

Hospice Care – a subject that will probably make you a little uncomfortable. Most Americans are uncomfortable about anything having to do with death, be it their own or another persons. But it cannot be denied that eventually we all go to see our maker.
Starting in the 1970s, a service called Hospice was begun to help those diagnosed with terminal illnesses and their families suffer less during that final phase of their lives.
On this program we talk about Hospice, what it is and what it isn’t and explore some of the misconceptions and myths that are frequently repeated.
Our guest on the program is Monica James, Community Outreach Coordinator for Houston Hospice. Houston Hospice is Houston’s oldest, largest, independent hospice care provider and is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
