The Pasadena Senior Expo is this Wednesday, August 14th 2019 from 9AM to Noon at the Pasadena Convention Center on Fairmont Parkway. Join us with thousands of seniors and hundreds of senior service providers. Have questions about senior living or senior care? Get them answered! There will be booths where you can learn about the free and low cost government programs for seniors plus how to get help from non-profit foundations and more!

Listen to this edition of The Senior Answer show as we learn more about the Senior Expo and about the great work being done by the wonderful staff at the Madison Jobe Senior Center in Pasadena!

The Madison Jobe Senior Center is a recreation facility for active adults 50 years of age and older. Located near the intersection of Red Bluff and Thomas, close to Hwy 225. Whether you are working, semi-retired, or retired, the center offers a variety of great leisure, educational and personal development opportunities for you. Programs offer activities that encourage and support health, creativity, and social interaction for active adults

Daily Activities include the use of exercise equipment, computer lab, billiard tables, puzzles, shuffleboard, books and games to provide recreational and social opportunities for active adults such as Bunco, Aerobics (Zumba/walk), Aerobics (low impact), 42 Players Group, BINGO, Embroidery, Bridge, Computer Classes, Line Dancing, Tap Dance Class, and Square Dancing. The center also has trips to area attractions and for $10 they will take you to Coushatta and back (they collect the money BEFORE you go!! Just in case.. LOL).

You can find their schedule and newsletter at Newsletter They are also the contact center for the Pasadena RIDES program which provides non-emergency transportation services to qualified low to moderate income seniors and/or people with disabilities of any age who reside in Pasadena and who are not able to drive themselves, do not own a vehicle, or are medically/physically unable to drive. RIDES helps them find the transportation they need for travel to essential medical services, grocery shopping, errands, and social activities as well as for other needs. If eligible, a participant may receive monthly RIDES program funds (up to $75 per month) that may be used with any of the designated transportation providers.
